Pat Sloan has a site with frequent BOMs or BOWs, patterns only or with kits.
Also, Piecing the Past site has the same offers, with different quilts. So far, all the patterns I have gotten from these two sites were free.

If you like applique, you can join Esther Aliu FB group and create The Queen's Garden for free. She has other projects as well. LOTS of applique.

Most BOM's start in January. Some of these are free to download past months, others have a small fee for the past blocks and only the current month is free. I am downloading 5 of these but only actively working on 2 of them.
