Bonnie Hunter's Mystery Quilt
#41
I am excited and am planning to join in. Now that others here are doing it I will try it.I've never done a mystery quilt. I have done a quilt a long and that was fun. I hope she gives us enough time to purchase what we need. I live in a rural area so it takes a while to get things. I know it's mainly scraps, but assume that we may need to get background fabric. Is that how it works?
The first clue does not post until the Friday after Thanksgiving so you should be able to get your fabrics all together in time. Hopefully she will post the fabric colors/requirements before she leaves for Peru tomorrow. I'm hoping to wake up and find it on her blog in the morning.

It has begun! My thread post is drafted and in the "approval" stage. In the meantime, if you want to access Bonnie's post with the fabric colors and requirements, go here:

New Bonnie Hunter Winter Mystery!!! Whose in?
Here we go!! Are you in? Are you sticking with Bonnie's Italy inspired color pallet? Venturing with your own? Do you have enough in your stash? Is a shopping spree in your future? I know what I'm doing.

Did she recently travel to Italy?? Interesting selection of colors. By the way, if you have a question regarding one of her quilts, she DOES answer questions and replied to mine in a couple of hours.

Yay!!! Have my paint chips and should be able to spend some time pulling my scraps together tomorrow. I was able to do Celtic Solstice completely from stash. I hope I can do that again this year, we shall see.
Yes, Rita, thanks for spearheading the thread again this year.

I have never done one of these. Is there fabric kits that can be bought anywhere or do you pick your own fabric? I'm really horrible at picking fabric.

You can do the mystery in just the color of the paint chips if you like.
Bonnie is a scrappy quilter and hers will be in 20 or 30 different shades of each paint chip.
They will all be beautiful.
