I think it's wonderful! I would never have thought of rickrack for the legs, but it adds to the charm.

I really love it and would like to make one. You didn't mention who you were making it for, but it'll be a wonderful gift.

It's darling! You've done a good job with the layout and I can't wait to see the final product. Mom and Baby are gonna be blessed by this cute quilt.

Reminds me of the riddle: if a farmer has 2o sick sheep and one dies, how many are left? Most people say 25 because, said aloud, it sounds like "26 sheep." When you say "19" , they are thrown off.

What you consider mistakes the recipient and others will consider design choices! Are you good at free motion writing? If so, when quilting the block that is slightly different because of flipped background fabric quilt the words, "stand out from the herd" somewhere :-) I've really enjoyed following your progress on this project and I think it's outstanding!

The layout is perfect and balanced, color-wise, I think, anyhow. I agree with your plan for the white on white stripping and I am sure that most will never notice the difference in dye lots.
