Cross Country Quilter since I just read it and have it. I would read it again with more depth and more thoughts.

There are so many quilt novels to choose from - lighthearted mysteries, historical novels, and novels that address topics of friendship, relationships and of course quilting.
I really like the novels by Marie Bostwick too. Her first is called "A Single Thread"
Both "Cross Country Quilters - Jennifer Chiaverini and
"A Single Thread" have reading guides.
Let's choose one of those for the first one. Both have been around long enough that a friend or the library might have it, in case you don't want to make a purchase. I have read both but I think I would like to do so again from the viewpoint of using the discussion questions and sharing with others.
I am going to go ahead and set up my diary today. I have decided to call it Quilt Novel Musings. If you are still interested, follow along and comment as you are moved to do so.
First off, please comment here on your choice of one of these 2 books and I'll see which one to do first.
Thanks to all who are interested. This is going to be FUN!!

1. Decide what kind of books you want to read. hmmmm... since this is a quilting board, books about quilting until we run out of them?
2. Hammer out the logistics. hmmm...we luck out...we all just need to get a glass of wine, soda or coffee and sit by our computers and type....maybe a snicky snack...bagel, cookies, sandwich...what ever your heart desires.
3. Keep the invitation open.. . Always be on the lookout for potential members to keep our book club interesting.
4. Set out your style. ??? Thoughts... Agree in advance what kind of style your club will have. Should you choose only books that come with discussion questions in the back, or are you happy coming up with your own? Talk daily, weekly...certain pages??Set expectations in advance.
5. Some one to start discussion or ask list of questions??? Stay positive, there will be some interesting topics///stick to the book and not personal experiences?? Thoughts ideas??? How to keep it rolling and interesting?
Ideas??? When do we start...

I was in a writing group ( in the real world, not online) we met once a month at the library. We all decided to draw #s out of a hat and then write a book. The number we drew was the chapter we were to write. We all supplied as least 3 characters, but didnt need to use each others characters in our chapter. The only rule was you coldnt kill off someone elses character -lol. You got the chapter ahead of you and played off that - took the story in any direction you wanted. If there arent enough books to read, maybe we could write our own - sharet
