Books on Handquilting
I wanted to try my hand at handquilting. I know the best thing would be to take a class but there doesn't seem to be any at my LQS.
Can anyone recommend a good book for a beginner?
Thanks in advance!

I'm sorry there aren't any classes near you - but there are a lot of hand quilters on this board.
I am self-taught. I used to read the hand quilting section of all the books I could find, and finally worked it out on my own. I like "That Perfect Stitch" by Roxanne McElroy, but there are others. I think if you search on YouTube you'll find online videos, which might be helpful, too.
Good luck!

I have Deidra McElroy's DVD, That Perfect Stitch that is really nice because she give tips for batting, needles and other helpful tips plus you get to see what she is doing, which I really like. I have a couple others as well but I like that one the best, but I also took a class at my LQS and use them as references. I don't have Alex Anderson's but I have heard it is pretty good. I can get more info for your when I get home from work if you want it just PM me and let me know.
Good luck

I viewed lots of youtube videos and purchase the Alex Anderson (The Quilt Show, she has mini videos on it) books as a resource. Also you could do a search here and there is a lady in Poland (?) that does beautiful whole cloth hand quilting, she has videos/tutorials as well I think.
