Yes shipping is totally a Mystery!

The price is $25 for the whole Mystery from start to end.
No extra costs involved, other than fabric!

    Oh joy more people!!!!!

I think our first meeting will be in mid-November and the first of the cutting instructions will be given. Mid-October is our reveal from the last mystery quilt. I went safe and used their kit. This time I'm having fun with it.

As QuiltE mentioned, the fee is paid upfront and you get your 8 clues every month. Here is a page that shows you the list of shops participating: http://www.bordercreekstation.com/quiltshops.html

Our shop is very helpful to those that don't want to do the kit and are unsure, they've helped out a few people find their ideal fabric...although that was in person. If you are really unsure getting the kit is probably the better option, after all the quilt was designed with that fabric in mind.

    Alright ladies lets do this!!!!!!!

I wish I had taken a photo of my friend Holly's colours...she went with more of white, then an elegant stone brown and blue with a rich red/brown for the pop.

This is the fabric I could find in my stash. I need 5 other ones and can't find any to go with these.

Or I could go with these but I still would need more and I don't have a clue what colors. What do you all think?

you know you could move your fabric 1 and 2 in the first picture down to your second picture. They have a nice pattern and the purple will be picked up.

edited to add: then you could pick up some beige or creams that are in both of those two and voila, you'll have your colours.

Speaking here a little out of context, being that I have barely read the instructions for picking the fabrics for this coming mystery ..... but wow do I like that fabric, Anael!!!

For putting it together, and again, remember it may not fit the instructions .... I like YukonViv's suggestion of using the first 1+2. What about finding a green to toss into the mix? It would help pull the green from those two lovely prints. The beige/creams that YV suggested, maybe look for a goldy tone to blend with that first pair.

    What do you think YukViv?
You'll have to get pics of your friend Holly's fabrics ... better still get her to join us on the thread.

BTW ... should I be starting the new thread NOW for this new Mystery? Or would you like to wait a bit for that?

Our LQS is having their reveal for the earlier one this SAturday 9/22. We can get the fabric instructions anytime and I think the first cutting/sewing clue is due mid October. I haven't been to the store yet, so am not officially in ... but did talk to her on the phone to hold my spot!

What do you think of these fabrics? The pink striped fabric doesn't go with these, so I have to find two more. One golden/yellow and the other one maybe a green tone?

I would not start a new thread yet, we can talk about fabric choices here and start a pattern/picture thread when we really start sewing. What do you think?

    Ok, I like it!

you just need two more and I know exactly where they should go!!! Wait a minute, that sounds too bossy...LOL...how about I suggest very calmly and quietly where I would put them...does that sound better?

I would # your fabrics as follows (based on the layout in your photo):

    7, 9, 6, 5, 4, 2 and 1

I would pick a gold or beige or a green for your #8 (check out the line up at the Border Creek Station mystery page where they lay out the fabrics in order...see the second to last is that pop of green?) and you need a print of some sort for fabric #3 that is similar to your white with flowers...not so though similar as you can't tell them apart when they are cut up into pieces.

What do you think? does that work for you? am I being bossy? (please don't answer that one LOL)

I can't wait till we start trying to figure out what it'll look like...the quilt is square so what does that tell you?

LOL Vivian. We're going to have lots of fun making this mystery together.

I heard you can use fabric # 3 also as fabric # 9 so that means I'm done. Problem is now I don't like what's now #5 in the picture. The pink doesn't go with the other fabrics so I might have to substitute that one now! From what's now #6 I only have 1/2 yard, I thought I use that as the pop colour. Wow, I didn't think it was this hard to pick colours.
