    Default border??

I've been working on a traditional Grandmother's Flower Garden top. Finally winding down and coming to the edge of this. I intend to put a straight border on it but then am considering prairie points. But maybe not?? Is that another dimension that would only take away from the hexies of the GFG?

Personally, I think the prairie points would take away from the flower garden.

I would either do the hexagon border or add half hexagons for the straight edge.

I agree with Tartan. You can attach half hexes on the sides and then I would just applique the curve flowers onto the borders.

I really love to see the jagged edges on some GFG quilts. I'm sure they are a lot of extra work, but so worth it.

I don't think prairie points would add to the quilt, but have you considered doing a knife edge finish instead of straight edge? The is would show off the hexagon edges and is very pretty on the traditional GMFG, IMHO.

I agree with the others. Much as I love prairie points, I'd either go with a traditional straight edge binding, or would bind in the shape of the outer hexies.
