bosal fusible foam squares
i want to do the flip and sew wreath and bought the Bosal squares of fusible foam. the directions say to fuse to fabric but sew around it, not through it. turning.
but can the Bosal be sewn through at all? just wondering if i should use it or not.

Here's a video showing it used for a zippered pouch, you can see how it looks quilted. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j-rJbLPFuTQ

I make many, many of these wreaths. I like to cut my interfacing 1/2" smaller and sew just next to it. That way when I turn it, I only have one thickness of it and double thicknesses of the fabric to topstitch thru. And, I usually just use a regular fusible interfacing. Depending on the fabric, I sometimes fuse both pieces. I find it still holds its shape and is much easier to turn, to sew and to fold to store. When I store or ship, I cut cardboard rolls (TP, Paper towels, etc) into 3" pieces and stuff them in the 'petals'. This lets them keep their shape and doesn't add any weight when shipping. If they do fall down, I lightly spray them and hit them with a shot of steam and they puff right back up. I don't care for the heavy foam and slice the backside to turn and then have to applique the opening way of doing them.

I wont' get more Bosal foam. not my favorite thing. i just left an opening large enough to fold the foam fusibles and slip them in and arrange straight and then sew the edges with a decorative stitch. did stitch on top of the Bosal some but it worked OK. did not follow the pattern clipping and turning and "appliqueing" square on top of that. Ugh.
