What a great idea. I've never seen any of these in Australia I may have to start a new trend.

DH and I were at the county fair to watch our granddaughter in the talent show. There was a couple there that make barn and garden quilts. My maiden name was Carpenter. I asked them if they could make a Carpenter's Square. They were not familar with that particular block but they had a book with all the quilt patterns in it. I am going to put it on a trellis on the side of my front porch. That is where you drive in our driveway. I have always wanted one. This one is not very big so it will look great in that area. It only cost me $30.00. I saw many they had painted and they do an excellent job of it

Ooooo! I love the barnquilts! If you know the couple's address, phone number, etc., would you please pm me? I don't live very far from Boone...
    Thanks!

Was on vacation in Iowa 3 weeks ago, and enjoyed each barn quilt I saw. It gave me a warm feeling inside and made me smile. My dh finally asked what the heck is a "barn quilt", i don't see any quilts with a barn on it, is the heat getting to you, finally had him pull over by the next one I saw and explained it to him. Had to giggle with that one. Like the idea to do some up with sunbrella fabric, thanks for sharing that!

Love your Barn quilts. I am doing a study on them for my homemakers group in Sept.

I will post a picture of mine when I get it. He said they had quite a few orders. We just had a huge addition built on to one our nursing homes. They are painting several for the garden so the residents can see them when they are in the dining room and also in a sitting area.
