New Home (Janome) Model 532, serial # 39493 last week at Goodwill - $20.00 with cabinet, made in Japan, 50s ?? - Billy is checking. Unfortunately, records are not as readily available as the Singers.
Tried it in the store - quiet & smooth, nice even stitches.
Features: knee control, straight stitch, reverse, zigzag, working light, vertical bobbin case, can drop feed dogs.
Needs cleaning yet. Looking for accessories & manual.
DIL loves retro things, so she is excited to have it.
If any of you have same machine or similar & have info, please let me know. Thanks lots!

Passed up - turquoise blue Precision ST Belvedere Deluxe, also made in Japan - straight stitch & reverse, vertical bobbin, no light or place to put one, needed new bobbin case, Model JC - 23 or JA5 (both #s on machine) serial # S56354. Nicer cabinet, twice the price. Went back today to get a picture & it is gone. Snooze...lose game :(

I got the New Home because DIL wanted zigzag for mending. Hope I bought the right machine!

PS Where is best place to post - main or pics?? Thanks, still fairly new here.

    Oldie for DIL

Looks like a nice machine with not much use. The old mechanical machines are work horses. I am guessing it is from the 60's.

Thank you. DIL was over today to ride one of our horses.
She saw the machine & loves it - and she is just learning to sew. I'll get it cleaned, order a manual for it, then she'll take it to her home.
