I felt the same way, I bought my first bolt which was batting. Funny how it really is a wow moment - we are soooo easy!

I bought 2 bolts of Kona Black at one time! Boy, did I feel decadent. That was two winters ago. It's all gone! Guess I'll have to go buy two more! LOL!

My first bolt was Kona white - seems like I was using it for everything, especially redwork and other embroidery. I loved having it on the bolt and I knew it was the "good stuff" and didn't get it mixed up with other white fabric that I had.

So far I've only bought a bolt of Kona white and black. I would really have to love the fabric to buy a bolt of a print. Love the luxury of knowing that I am not going to run out of the "background" fabric.

I always buy my muslin by the bolt and also for quilt backing. Not so much for baby quilts as for the larger quilts.

It is very exciting when you realize you have just passed "newbie" in your stash collection. Welcome to the quilters

I once bought a bolt of fabric and after the sales clerk had measured it out, she folded it. The lady behind me asked why I didn't just roll it back onto the cardboard? I can't do that!! It's OK for me to come home with a BAG full of fabric, I can't come home with a BOLT of fabric!

Congrats on your first big purchase, may it be the first of many.
