I have three baby quilts to get made, all babies are due before Christmas so that is my goal. None of the parents want to find out if it is a boy or a girl. I found one generic pattern, even though it uses blue fabric, but I just can't decide for the other two. And how boring to make three of the same quilt :) I guess I could make fun ones out of primary colored fabric.

What have you all done when presented with this dilemma?

Warm Wishes works best for me. You can use whatever focus fabric you want and pick up complimentary colors from that for the stripe block.

Try something with lots of bright colors. Babies love bright colors. good luck to you, and be sure to post your pics of the baby quilts when your done, we would love to see them.

Babies also only see black and white the first 2-3 months of their life. I've had fun doing black and white and some red! I've used a multitude of various black and white designed fabric along with primary colors.

I like the idea of bright primary colors and I think you could use a mix of pink and blue, then add maybe soft yellow and greens. I got lots of pink stuff when my first son was born, he didn't seem to care at the time, lol!

Bright primary is so the way to go! When I had both of my kids, I got all pink for DD and all blue for DS, so other colors were GREATLY appreciated! We used to joke about doing a load of pinks for laundry. It seemed liek we got more color variety for a boy, greens, reds, browns.

Was just at JoAnn's today for their coupon sale and checked out the baby prints. They have very cute prints that aren't sexist.

Any pattern with bright primary colors would work. Those are the colors babies see first.

Check out www.bugfabric.com - it's mainly kids prints. You can get a lot of inspiration from that site!
