It must have made you happy to discover that! Happy for you that it wasn't something worse. :-D

We all do silly things but the important thing is being able to laugh about it.

This made me laugh because just yesterday I wanted to sew after putting my room back in order from guests for Thanksgiving and my machine would not come on. It was plugged in and also plugged into the surger I use but nothing would work boy was I upset. It finally occurred to me that the light was not on on the surge protector cord because it was not plugged in. I was glad no one was there but me. lol

Glad to see that I'm not the only one to do things like this. Yesterday, I wanted to embroider some blocks for a table topper that I'm making. I plugged the embroidery machine in, turned it on, and nothing. Checked the plug, checked to make sure it was plugged into the machine, yup. Hmmm. Okay, I'll sew a few blocks I have done together. (The embroidery machine and sewing machine are close to each other and use the same outlet). I plugged the sewing machine in, turned it on, and nothing. Okay, it has to be the outlet. I get my lamp, plug it in, it works. Well, what is going on here? So, I looked at the cords, well you guessed it. I plugged the sewing machine in when I wanted to use the embroidery machine, and I had plugged the embroidery machine in when I wanted to use the sewing machine. Good thing dh wasn't home, he would still be laughing at me.

We have all done things like this. I just finished piecing a 48x60 western quilt that is scraps and it is attic windows with design changes made. I am working on the boarders now. I will never use this pattern again. It was difficulte sewing.

I came back to it about an hour later, only to discover that it hadn't over heated, but the quilt had knocked the cord such that it wasn't plugged in all the way!!!!
So.....I have now finished the centre, just the border left to quilt, then get the binding on.
    Silly me!!!!! LOL

Had a similar thing happen to me once, of course its always at the absolutely W O R S T time. Fortunately my cries of despair caused DH to see if he could solve problem, and he found the problem! :D
