Go for it! See reviews at patternreview.com. Click on the sewing machine tab, then reviews, brother, scroll down to your model. I had a look at this machine, very similar to the Babylock Symphony. I'd buy it if I weren't Pfaff-obsessed. It includes a TON of extras for quilters.

I have the Innovis 1500 and had lots of problems with the bobbin thread jamming and getting the upper thread underneath. After taking it in three times, the last clerk (most knowledgable - she said all Brothers can be like this), said that the bobbin needed to be wrapped differently then in the instructions (wrapping twice around the tension instead of once). That worked ok but I was still having some issues, I fixed the other issues by only using Brother bobbin thread and a bobbin genie. (But all machines have little quirks)

    Good luck.

I think Brother makes many Babylocks. They have many sister models. I think I was quoted $2500 in October for this model.

Congrats! Great hubby! Give us your feedback as you get experience with it. I'd love to see a product review section, especially for machines, on this board. I use the ones on pattern review, but the opinions of quilters matters more to me.

I bought the Laura Ashley model back in September. Got it for a good price at a large quilt show. It is a great machine- easy to learn on- it is said to be comparable to the Babylock Symphony and I have heard the same company makes them. I also have an Brother Innovis NX400 and love it as well. I have been doing alot of sewing in the last couple of years and have not had any trouble with either machine.

can anyone tell me about how much this machine cost? I have been trying to find a price online and am unable to. Have been looking at this machine online. Looks and sounds pretty awesome.
