    Default Brother LB-6800PRW

I just purchased this above sewing/embroidery machine. Has anyone on here used one? I already have an embroidery machine but I needed a new sewing machine that I could afford. I love that it has the needle up/down and automatic thread cutter. Anyone have any experience with this machine?

WOW I guess no one has one of these? Can you tell my your experiences with any Brother machines. Mine is on its way and I am nervous and should have checked before I bought it but the price was great and so were the machine options. Any thoughts?

I bought a Brother 8080PRW off the Internet and was seriously doubting my sanity. It has worked just fine, with two exceptions: learning to put the bobbin in correctly took weeks and two trips to a technician (who could have just told me to press down with my thumb while threading the bobbin thread to the cutter!!!) and I have yet to find a 1/4" foot that I can actually see relative to the needle "in" position (which is further back than on my old Pfaff), other than the one with the plow-like extension, which does not like intersections. Wow, was that a long sentence?! I know nothing about your particular model, but hope you have great luck with it.

I have two Brother sewing machines, and I love them both. I also have a Janome, and like the two Brothers better. I don't believe you will have any problems. Read the manual before using your machine, and everything should work out really well.

In reply to Lee in Richmond, I hate that plowlike device on the side of the quarter inch foot, and I removed it. It's very easy to remove, or you can push it up so it's out of your way entirely when you're sewing.

I have several basic Brother machines and the XR9500PRW which does the alphabet but no embroidery. I like them all but my favorite basic Brother is the XR-52 which is from Costco and is about 10 years old. I hope you enjoy yours.
