Brother P1500 unveiling (?)
If you have the Brother PQ1500 with pin feed, how do you like it? Also, out of curiosity, on July 30th, Brother is having their big launch of new products and such at a convention in Nashville --do you think they will unveil a stretched 1500 with pin feed? I would love to have a stretched Brother 1500 or Juki 98 or 2010. I'm almost amazed that they haven't stretched their machines YET! I know you can get them stretched at WOW in Oklahoma, but I would like one from the get-go.
So, take the survey: they will unveil a stretched 1500, or they won't. I say they will!

I have the Brother ps1500. It works great with the John Flynn quilt frame. I use it for piecing too. I leave the pin feed engaged for all sewing. I have to plead ignorant though at what exactly pin feed does. I just leave it in that setting and have great stitches. I was wondering what Brother will have new. I got the email today for the big review on the 30th.

The sales lady showed me by taking off the foot so you could see the pin in action. When she hit the gas, you could see this pin come up from below the throat plate with every stitch--up, down, up, down. It helps pull the sewn together layers through. Really eliminates the need for a walking foot. Quilters LOVE that feature. I can't believe that more manufactures haven't included it in their products.

I doubt if the unveiling is what you're hoping. I have a feeling it might be a machine to compete with the Janome 12000, something with both sewing and embroidery capabilities - and oh yeah, it will most likely cost a fortune! Otherwise they wouldn't be making such a big deal out of it....

Thanks for the pin feed info. I won my 1500 so had no dealer help. The one Brother dealer in the area kept putting me off since I didn't buy it from her store. She wouldn't even show me how to use the needle threader! Said she had no experience in using one. LOL I called and emailed Brother district manager and Brother headquarters but never got a reply. What good are 800 numbers? The dealer filed bankruptcy so she's gone anyway.
