My very thoughtful husband bought a Brother SE400 Embroidery/Sewing machine for me last week and it was delivered Tuesday. It seems simple to operate, but I am no computer whiz!! It comes with a USB cord that I can plug into my laptop to purchase and download patterns off the internet. Will I need to purchase a PES software program and install it into my laptop? So far, I have been unable to download anything and I'm anxious to get started tomorrow morning!! Thanks to all for your help and have a great weekend.

I have been eyeing this machine for sometime. I have the same questions. I have found some reviews on www.patternreview.com click on the Message Boards tab and put in Brother SE400 in the search.

Hope this helps you. I'm still in the thinking stage but I think it's because I don't want to part with $400. It's not as much as my Bernina I bought in August but it's still a lot!
