I have a brother 8500 and I am thinking about buying a Brother ULt 2002. Do any of you own this machine. Could I do a lot more with the 2002 than I can with the 8500? I don't feel like I have used the 8500 to it's full capacity and I already want another one?

I've had one for nearly 10 years. love it. Never had a bit of trouble with it. It takes floppies instead of flash drive like the newer brothers, also the emb. cards. i pretty much took it out of the box and started using it.I use the emb. unit quite abit, also do regular sewing and quilting. Not sure what the biggest hoop you have now would be but mine is 6x10. around here you can get one for about $1200-$1500 used.

Main thing is the hoop size. I have a 'D' which has some built in Disney designs that you can't get any place else. I only use mine for embroidery as I have a Pfaff for piecing.

I had one and I absolutly loved it. I upgraded to the 4000D and actually I liked the 2002 better. When I upgraded to the 2002, I too had an 8500. I like all the Disney that you get with the 02.
