In my group we did a No Peek 9 Patch. Each participant brought in 250 squares cut at 2-1/2" We dumped all the sqaures on a table and asked each participant to count out 250. It was fun to watch the quilters pick out squares for their piles. Now for the twist! I passed out brown paper lunch bags for each one to put their squares in THEN much to their horror I collected all the bags and put numbers on them and had them draw numbers.
We showed how to make 9 patch blocks where you were NOT allowed to peek so that the squares were random.
We discussed different ways to set the 9 patches like with snowball blocks or plain blocks. It was a lot of fun and the quilt I made it one of my favorites!
