    Most brown paper is recycled material and may be more acid than you want next to fabric for very long, but a month shouldn't hurt -- just don't forget them. Edges in contact with brown paper grocery bags for a few months tend to yellow.

    I use plastic tubs that I get at the dollar store (Tree)for $1.. poke holes in tops so they can get air.
