Bucket List Question
#21
I also use Pinterest, though I don't know if I would call it a bucket list. I just pin quilts or blocks that look interesting and when the time comes to pick a pattern for someone, it usually comes out of that list.

I used to have a bucket list, but my interests change so often, every time I see more quilts being shown here and elsewhere. Now, as joe' smom says, I just collect a lot of photos of quilts and patterns that I would like to make someday and browse through them when it is time to start the next quilt. .... I keep adding photos of quilts to my collection as I read this board... loll. They are kept either on my computer, in 2 or 3 private photo albums here on this board, in a 3 ring binder and on my bulletin board.
As I keep changing my mind I only choose the "next" one so no kit prepared in advance for me. I don't have a big stash and I don't buy much fabric ahead of time except when I travel and find a LQS I feel I have to buy myself a "souvenir" and encourage LQS at the same time (my excuse loll .)
Depending on the pattern I choose for the next quilt I will shop the fabrics on hand and buy some fabrics to complete my selection for that next quilt. I try really hard not to collect scraps also, therefore I work on a leader/ender scrap quilt, along with the one quilt I try to finish before starting another one. I always do reversible quilts so I can "sandwich" and quilt them 2 at a time...

I have assembled "kits": some purchased and some assembled by me, sorted and labeled in my sewing room. Didn't realize how many until I recently wrote them all down on a notebook. I was shocked & distressed & embarrassed that I let it get so out of hand. Soooooooooo I am "mostly" on a hiatus and started pulling projects from my list, and then crossing them off when done. Some get moved to the "To be quilted" list, ha, ha. Amazingly, I still love all of them and would love them completed!
This says nothing about the stash I have on fabric boards, pre-cuts, and scraps I have cut into 5" sqs. Yikes. I'm with Jan..........I will have to live 100's more years to get it all done.

Quilts I really, really want to make I “kit”. I put the fabrics I will use and the pattern in large plastic, zippered bags. They are ready to go when I am. I also save patterns in3 ring binders. From time to time I go through them and see if I still want to make them. If not, out they go!

I have a list on Pinterest. A list in my head. A half formed list at the back of my mind and a small pile of patterns. All this and I will still find myself looking at patterns online because I need something new to do! After seeing the amazing Gipsy wife Quilt on here I think it's moved to the top of the list........until something else knocks it off!

I have a folder on a flash drive with pictures of things I want to do. I have already done quite a few of them, and sometimes add more. I do not always know the names of the patterns, but I give mine names anyway so I do not mind.

I absolutely love how all three look, so I'm happy I made them!

I've always wanted a Storm at Sea quilt. so, i'm making it now a king size, English Paper Piecing, as if it's not a pain to do already. I'm doing it in aquas and blues. I saw it on pintrest and fell in love with it my dh wants me now to hand quilt it. he doesn't like the feel of machine quilted. I just found this out after I paid $500 to have a quilt quilted. oh, and a double wedding ring too. don't know what colors yet. maybe 30's
