I just got my book today and was looking at the pattern Crazy Churndash. Kind of confusing at first, but then it "clicked". Ok, so I make the star first and then cut it down to size, BUT the size is way to big even when I cut it down. It won't fit in the space provided.

Has anyone else made this pattern? if so, what did you do about the stars?

Here's the pattern I'm talking about, or I should say the picture.

Are you using the right star block pattern? If memory serves me, when I did mine a few years ago, I used the star that was with the flag block, and looking at the pattern, it really doesn't tell you much. I ended up having to build a couple of blocks to make it work. Although it is a fun way to do things, it sure wasn't easy!!!

When I took the Buggy Barn Crazy Camp someone was doing the churn dash. They had to "square" the star before continuing with the rest of the pattern. I did the Bright Star and thats what we did also. Just try one and see what happens. Try posting a picture of your progress. That often helps other members to see if something is wrong.

This was for my youngest granddaugther who is in love with horses and owns 2 at the age of twelve. I completed the quilt start to finish in 2 weeks. It was a true labour of love!

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I'm going to make a whole block today instead of just the star and I'll post it here.

It's just not registering in my brain how it'll fit. :(
