QKO is correct about that - I had forgotten that there are many stores selling through Amazon. Always be sure to check out their feedback from other customers.

Christmas 2009 my DH bought me a Brother machine from Amazon and it came through fine. DSIL bought my daughter the same machine a week later, no problems.

    I love Amazon.

I bought my serger from Amazon. It was the same one I was going to order from Walmart, a few dollars cheaper and I got free shipping and it came in 2 days (member of that club thing they have where you pay so much a year and get "free" 2 day shipping).

Oh yeah....90% of the items in my home are from Amazon. Also, someone mentioned Ken's Sewing Center. I have used them many times and never been disappointed. Certainly safer to buy from amazon than Ebay....I have had a few bad burns on sewing machines from Ebay. Ken's or any other establishment would make it right. Just remember, the Singers of old are not the Singers of today! You can't go too far wrong as far as price and quality goes with Brother or Janome. You might also check out SewingMachinesPlus.com. They have good prices...I purchased my Janome 6500 from them and was pleased all around with the service and shipping...it was here in 3 days! Unfortunately, the higher end machines, like Janome 6600 have to be purchased at the store, the company does not allow them to ship them. Good luck on your purchase...a new sewing machine is exciting.
