    Hello All,

I've only bought the prepackaged batts before but is it possible to buy by the yard from Joanns with a coupon? If so, what is the width?

I want to double it as batting to make it warmer and I think it might be cheaper to buy by the yard than buy two twin size batts.

You can use the coupon on the warm and natural by the yard when it is not on sale. I think it is on sale this week for like 5.99 a yard , but I don't remember the width sorry

it is considered a single cut for the coupon

I think I got 90" width recently. They have a happy tag on it which says the measurements. I was terrified when I first purchased by-the-yard batting, but it's so much cheaper, and for me, more economical, since I can fit more quilts onto the batting than working with the packaged lengths (since I hate piecing batting). Go in, browse, and look at the rolls - you can do it!

I buy an entire bolt of WN from Joanns with a 50% off coupon - it's 90 inches wide I think

you should also get onto the Hancock's email list if you aren't already. they occassionally put their batting on sale for half price. sometimes online, sometimes in-store, sometimes both.

i can't remember the last time i paid full price for batting.

I don't think I would try to double the Warm and Natural batting in your quilt.....I have used WAN for years and years and all those quilts are ''plenty'' warm with just one layer!!!! Plus, I don't think you would be able to machine quilt with the top and bottom fabrics plus 2 layers of batting and I KNOW you would not be able to hand quilt it!!

    Just my 2 cents!!

I always buy a full roll too when it goes on sale and if you wait until JoAnns offers one of those 10 percent off your entire purchase....so much the better!! Now finding a place for that big box is another story!! I've heard of it being stored in the shower that is never used...smart idea!!

Same here -- I buy by the roll. Same at Hobby Lobby (has 120" wide). You can almost always find a coupon for JoAnn's (50%) and Hobby Lobby (40%) by going to their websites. No need to be afraid. It's the same as in the package.

If you buy the entire roll that's considered one cut and you can use your coupon unless it specifies (as they sometimes do) that it's not for rolled batting.
