I read something the other day that said if you were considering sending quilts, not to send them until late April or May. I can't remember what the exact reason was.

I'm just starting to learn quilting but I will try to get one together. I have an afghan I have to put together I would be willing to send it also if someone could let me know if they would like it sent with quilts. I've been looking for someone to give to that's in need. Please let me know. thanks.

I don't think it is a good ides to mark the outside of the box with Quilts, good chance it could be stolen. I was once told to never mark the outside of the box that there is a quilt inside.

I have just finished pinning fronts to backs...I will be birthing my baby quilts. Then all I have to do is some FM, and they will be on the way...
I don't intend to write quilts on the box. I will enclose a note, attached to the quilts.

They have asked that a note be included inside the box to say the quilts are for Japan if you do not want to write it on the outside of the box. The magazine receives quilts for many reasons and they simply cannot send anything to Japan that does not specifically say that is what they are intended for.

So, on the box or inside the box, it does not matter just as long as it says 'Quilts for Japan' somewhere.

Thanks for the clarification! I probably won't have one ready by April 30th, but I've been hoping something like this would come along while I'm working on at least one that would be appropriate....I just can't be sure to make deadlines!

The RRVA Guild in Wichita Falls, TX, is sending seven quilts to Japan, via Colorado. We hope other guilds, as well as individuals, will send some, too.
