Default Can anyone identify what type of fabric this is?

My quilting bestie gave me a bunch of what she deemed scraps and this was in the bunch of scraps, she doesn't recall what type of fabric it is or where she got it.
    Can anyone help me please?

It's striped - is it flat? Is it bumpy? If it's bumpy it might be seersucker, a summer weight fabric. It almost looks like a denim stripe in your picture. Is it lightweight? Heavy? Shirt weight? Pants weight? Crispy? Drapey?

From what I can see, it looks like it might be indigo dyed. Try washing a little scrap in hot water to see if it bleeds blue. Try the burn test to see if it is cotton or polyester, that may help determine the fabric.

If it's a fairly loose weave it may be a cotton homespun. http://jubileefabric.com/Garden-Gree...on-Fabric.html

It sure looks like a woven fabric. But I really like it (I'm a blue person) so just send it my way and you don't hae to worry about it!

Burn test time! Send some snippets out to the driveway with hubby, they love to play with fire.

Is there a resource that will tell me what the results of the burn test mean? I have some fabric & yarn that would like to test - I have been told that some fabric is alpaca, some is silk and I have some yarn that I think is either alpaca or camel. Any help pointing me to some guidelines would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
