Actually, flying geese are not difficult to make at all if you use a special tool...I believe it is Eleanor Burn's Quilt in a Day flying geese tool. It will at first sound confusing but if you make a few out of scrap fabric you will very quickly get the hang of it and make your border in no time at all!

ok thanks ya'll! I'm going to try it. I showed it to dh and he agreed that it would be perfect for his mom. I'm going to order the kit though since I'm laid up and can't get out anywhere. I'm not to sure about matching it up online.
