    I have used homespun with other cotton fabric with no problem.

    your quilt is "sew" pretty. that is what i want to do, use the plaids and stripes for the stars and a kona solid for the background. thanks for your post.

    I would overcast the edges of the homespun ( just a quick zig zag ) before washing/drying. Homespuns because of the loose weave will RAVEL!!!

    DITTO....I have even used homespun on wool, and with denim..just wash it really good first, as it shrinks much like flannel does!

    I've found serging it works better than the zig zag does for homespuns.
