    I always use Insul-brite in my table runners and placemats. I don't have to worry about hot dishes being put on the runner or mats.

    I think zig-zag is probably the best solution and would use the longest stitch possible. This is timely as I need to make several table runners for a craft event for a charity and saving money (to increase profit for the event) is very important.

    Insul-brite...I wouldn't have thought of it but for table runners is a brilliant idea! Thanks for the idea!
