It looks to me like in addition to uneven stitch lengths the back is all 'eyelashes' on the curves - a common problem for beginners like me who 'rush' the curves and I don't even have a glorious long-arm - just my own two arms and a DSM!

I would worry that in removing the stitches 'safely' your LAQ might do so with equal care as it was originally quilted.

I think it only fair to show her the quilt and have a completely different back on it. I guess that is one reason why I prefer a quilt has been placed in a frame and quilted. Sometimes fast is not the best.

I am so sorry this happened to you. When I use the LAM I test an area for the tension. Every fabric is different. I even check when I start on the quilt to make sure the tension is balanced. That way I can remove the thread and start over. What size needle did she use? It left such big holes. What does it look like on top? I would ask for my money back.

Hey, that looks familiar. That's what my quilting looked like the first time I tried to quilt myself. On the positive side, it's really easy to rip out the stitching. Just snip and pull.

Since you actually paid to have this quilted, I'd try to take it back. But I'm very bad about confrontation so it would be hard for me to actually do it.

I am not a LAQ, but after all of the do's and don't's I have seen on this board and Quilting shows, even I would have known better to return a quilt in this condition...I would have to agree with everyone else, take it back to the LAQ and have it done correctly...If they are truly professional, they will back up their work without question...if they give you grief, ask for your money back and go elsewhere...So sorry that this had to happen...Don't stress over whether or not is is ready in time for christmas, get it corrected and give it as a belated xmas gift...which everyone likes to get!!!

The GOOD thing about it is, with the tension so loose, it should be fairly easy to remove the stitches... always try to look on the bright side

Take it back, however, I would be worried about the holes that look way too big for thread. It looks like it may be a problem that cannot be 100 percent resolved. So sorry!
