It's a Hollow Cube but the lights and darks aren't placed to look like there's a base and sides.

I purchased a pattern from my LQS last call Pizzelles Quilt. It is designed by Sandy Klop and is by American Jane Patterns.

IF ALL THE INNER PIECES MET IT WOULD HAVE BEEN A REGULAR TUMBLING BLOCK. iT STILL IS EXCEPT YOU OUTLINED THE MATERIAL IN THE MIDDLE. tHATS VERY PRETTY. iT ISN'T LIKE THE HOLLOW BLOCKS I HAVE SEEN. I THINK THIS ONE ABOVE IS EASIER TO MAKE. DID A QUILT OF TUMBLING BLOCKS FOR A CHILD. NOW THAT I SEE YOURS MAY DO ANOTHER.

Yes, it is an elaborate tumbling block. You can see them in fancy hexigon quilts. as well.

Thanks to all of you. My friend will be so happy to see the great tutorial.

Like I told her...I don't think there is anything you need to learn that you can't find here on the board . I have learned sooo much from all of you. Thank you!
