Take it back. It should be under warranty. Sounds like there's a glitch in the electronics. Should be a free fix or a replacement macihne. Don't take "no" or "something you did" for a answer. Corporate customer rlations would be my second "go to" place after the dealer.

Well, yes you can over heat a sewing machine. I had been doing a lot of sewing on my Kenmore, which I'd had for some time, when suddenly there was actual smoke coming out of the sewing machine. Well, I guess I sewed too much for the poor thing, and I had to toss it. I guess someone could have put in another motor, but I opted for a new machine. My girlfriend has the exact same machine and hers is still going strong, but she doesn't do nearly the amount of sewing that I do.

I quilted one with YLI, varigated white to gray to black. worked very nice.
Thanks in advance!

Have you got your machine plugged into a strip where other things are plugged in especially your iron. My machine died down and discovered everytime my iron heated up the machine would die down , slow up so plugged it into a different power strip and have no more problems.

King Tut (Superior Thread) quilts beautifully and there is a verigated black that is awsome.
About the machine - try a brand new needle(topstitch or metallic) and yes, be sure to clean feed dogs and bobbin case area.
