I live in Alberta for the last several months I have been trying to get two boxes of Quilter's Thumb Tacks.. I have tried to order them from the US but the suppliers that have them don't ship to Canada. I then had an offer from a US quilter on this Board, she bought them for me and sent them June 25 but they have not shown up and are most likely stuck at the border. I guess thumbtacks are dangerous!!
The problem is that I need them for Early Sept for a Church retreat.
So is there a Canadian Quilter that could check their Local quilt shop and buy me 2 boxes!! These tacks have heads that are about 5/8" wide, there is about 65 tacks in a box. On line the boxes are about $4 each.
Please PM me if you can help.

Try www.quiltsourcecanada.ca and put "thumb tacks" in the search box. Hope this helps! :-D

Several of my friends are embroiderers and they use tacks to fasten the fabric to the stretcher bars.

Try www.berlinembroidery.com Click on "embroidery supplies" and then scroll down to "embroidery tools". You will see brass tacks on the list. There is also a kit which has a pusher for inserting the tacks. Will they do for your purposes?

Tanya Berlin is in Calgary, by the way, and if you are in that area you may be able to go and pick them up.

Those tacks might work but it does not say how wide the heads are. The width is very important .I need ones that are about 5/8" wide. If they are that wide they would work. I live in Medicine Hatand don't have means to go to Calgary. But I think I can order on line from that source. So you have any of the tacks that you can measure?
