What is the effect you want the finished quilt to have? Softer and more relaxing or perky and vibrant? Both would be beautiful you just need to decide the effect you want. I hope that helps. :D

I would use it as inner border also. Have done it on several quilts & always like the stripes used that way.

This is the $50,000 question! Initially, I thought the name of this quilt would be "Beachy". The aqua with the spring green print just said, "Beach" to me. I really wanted a soft, light feminine throw. Now I'm changing my mind and I'm not sure which way to go!

At the suggestion of a couple of members I printed the fabric and did a couple of mock-ups. I think it clarified some issues and brought up others!

    1. Original combination with purple looks too matchy-matchy to me. I would do this as a gift (which I have done. See my Fastest Finish Ever post).

    2. I like this. I like that the pink wakes up the soft colors and makes it more playful yet still relaxing. This feels light and still 'beachy' to me.

    3. Interesting. This I like as well but it makes me want a border of the stripes as well with the purple as the binding.

Everyone's suggestions and ideas have all been so great. The talent on this board is incredible.

I would try to figure out a way to use them all. Beautiful!!! Woops...I see that is what you did. I agree that a border with the purple and the stripe would really make it great.

Love the strip. Use the purple as a border.
