I was just going to comment, if it still wasn't quite the way you wanted you could always a coordinating fabric in the corners.

I have a piece of fabric that measures 158" around the perimeter.
Now....I have a small piece that measures 36" long X 18" wide. How many strips and how wide can I cut to get a border to go around the bigger one?
I don't care how wide it will be...but I can't run short...it's the only piece I have. Thanks for any help, guys.

I would go with a 3" strip (18/3=6)...you will get 6 strips... 6x36=216. Plenty for the borders on the quilt. Remember you have to be able to either miter or add twice the width of the strip (6") to either the top/bottom or side strips)...so 3" ending with a 2-1/2" border would be safest.

I would NEVER have thought of that. But I'll remember that for subsequent borders. Thanks.
