Default Can't Remember How to Use Embird

Just sent this message to another embroidery group but will take all the help I can get. I haven't embroidered for probably five years and now discover I can't remember a darn thing. I have always followed the embroidery threads and never dreamed I would ALL the fundamentals.
My problem at this moment is not being able to open the Embird screen and find the information on the rt. hand column which starts with the C Drive, etc. and contains folders and previews. Sometimes I can find the design and then have difficulty getting it to open. I have several of BDZines tutorials but can't even find my screen as shown on her basic editor lesson.
I am using Embird 2013 Build 10 32 bit on Windows XP.
I've spent about three days trying to make some simple changes to a design and can hardly remember a darn thing -- feel like a old dog chasing it's tail. Think I'll give up and go to Bed!

I have embird also, I have not used it for years but when I have gone into Embird it all ways asks if I want to do a backup, not sure if this is for files or passwords, why don't you go to the embird site and ask for some help

    There's 2 groups -
    One is Sew Forum:
    http://www.sewforum.com/

There are quite a few Embird users there.

If you have Yahoo Groups - Compusew with Jan deals with Embird. She does Pfaff software also. Has lessons.
