You can buy rulers with guards on them or buy guards for your present ruler so that if the rotary cutter slips it will hit the guard before your finger.

I am so sorry that happened to you. I can just feel it!

I love your quote by Martin Luther. I have two quotes from him that I really love - would love to pass them on to you: "Next to the word of God, music deserves the highest praise. The gift of language combined with the gift of Song was given to man that he should proclaim the Word of God through Music." And, "Fear not, Little Dog. Thou, too, in Resurrection shall have a little golden tail." (Which tells me that our pets will see us in Heaven (providing we get there too!!). (Golden tail being the halo!!!!) Edie

PS - Take good care of your finger!

I have a Klutz glove (I also have a glove like butchers - bought for me by my DDIL). 2nd part of that is to WEAR IT! I forget to.

OMGosh! That had to hurt bad! Yes, we all need to be careful, I would've never thought I'd sew through my finger, but it happened!

Yes, they are sharp! I just bumped mine one time when I hadn't closed it and got a cut - nothing serious but a good reminder!

Ouch in a big way! I sliced the tip of my index finger the first day I used mine and right before I had to go to work at the salon. Had to wear gloves the whole day. I had some Super Glue and hurt like a booger but closed it up.

I did the same thing just a little while back, I also had to go have it cauterized, and no it isn't fun. They had to give me a block. Man I thought I would bleed to death. I now have a pointed finger, lol..but you can bet I am very careful now. I think my finger will always be numb and tender. If I bump it it hurts like crazy. Sorry it happened to you too. I think we probably have learned our lesson, I hope so anyway.
