    Default Carpenter's Star Quilt 2

I am really happy with this one. The points match better than the first one. I want to add two borders and skinny one then a large one. No sure what color the skinny one should be but the larger outer border will be the ships and lighthouse fabric. Any suggestions?

Really nice. I like the subtle star made with the water fabric. I would go with a narrow red stop border.
I still think your first attempt was great too!!!

I think a narrow red border would look great, and help to highlight the red in the fabric.

i think a thin red inner border would look good. the outer border might be green or blue... the green would contain the present quilt and the blue would bring the present quilt outward. i'd do the green.

I like the thin red border idea also, followed by your lighthouse fabric. This will be a great quilt, though I liked your first one too. I am glad you are keeping it.

I agree with DebbE. Red would be good. If not a red, try a royal blue. Either one would be great and really set the star.

Yes, I agree, try previewing a red border inside accent border. If it screams too much, then try a darker blue like twinkle stated. You did a TERRIFIC job with rethinking your design. You should be VERY HAPPY with the result !! And your Dad is going to love it because YOU MADE it especially for him.
