my room is small w/an area rug that covers most of the floor. It is very cold in the winter time and I don't like to wear shoes. I use my vacumm and then once in a while use my seam ripper to clean the threads from the bottom of the vacumn

I would love to rip out my carpet in my sewing room! I hate it, yet it is nice and not a thing wrong with it! Still I would prefer not having carpet in the sewing room, it was here when we bought the house recently.

I have hardwood floor. It is very easy to clean up all the little threads, bits of fabrics, etc that end up on the floor. Quick sweep or dust mop...all done!! I am notorious for throwing threads and tiny scraps on the floor. This works best for me.

My sewing room is a spare bedroom so I have carpet. I like it because it's comfortable. I have a small sofa, TV,computer, and bookcases so my room is like a sewing/sitting room. I spend a lot of time in it even when not sewing. I live in the northeast so the carpet is a lot warmer and cozier in the winter. I have tile in the kitchen and it can get cold.

I have a good quality vinyl in my sewing room that resembles wood parquet flooring. It's very easy to keep clean - just a Swiffer or quick vacuuming at the end of my day in there and it's done. I've eliminated all carpeting from my house due to allergies.
