If you want cushy for your feet, buy a throw rug or carpet remenant for your work area.

I once had carpet under my sewing corner, but now have laminate. I am a messy sewer and the pins would get buried in the carpet and it isn't good to find one when you have bare feet! Also, it is easier for me to use a broom than to maneuver the vacuum around the equipment.

I had carpet in previous room, it is warm, but messy. I now have stained sanded cement (see photo) and LOVE it. It is easy to move on (using rolling chair between machine and cutting table) and easy to clean. I found with the carpet there were always pieces of thread laying around no matter how meticulous I was about being neat.

I have had both, the carpet tends to hide the pins dropped and end up stepping on them.
My current sewing room is stained concrete with rubber mats at the cutting table for me to stand on.
I much prefer the concrete floors or wood floors, will never again have a sewing room with carpet.
Have a blessed day
