I am wanting to make a cathedral window lap size quilt. Can anyone tell me about how much background fabric I will need. I know it takes a lot. thanks for all your help

It depends on how big you want your windows. If you cut 9 inch squares, after you fold them etc. your windows will be 3 inches I believe. Here is a tutorial that may help you.
