I hear you with cold my furance works but I am running out of money to buy wood it is all I heat with. Was in 60s on Sunday and today Tuesday the high is going to be 46 and rain again. I to live in Michigan tip of the thumb I think spring has forgotten to come here. No snow but lots of rain and cool and windy!!!!

Hoping you get the part real soon. Probably about 65 degrees here in Virginia. Just got through planting about 200 tomato plants. It is suppose to rain sometime today and tomorrow. Had a huge Easter egg hunt on Saturday, was a beautiful day.

We are receiving your cold weather down in Alabama. Tonight will be down to 41 degrees which is cold for May. I hope you find the part you are missing. Try doing a search on the internet.

I can sooooooo relate to this, as I had one furnace go down, and it has been a very cold week! Just got the new one installed and running today! :)

This sounds like what my parents went through- who live in northern MI.
so here's the story- My father is a retired pastor and they live in an area hard to get repairs(the reapir man did not know he was a pastor). The repair man was vage and not particularilly helpful the first time but willing to collect payment. My father discovered later there was a crack internally on the furnace and called the man out again who was reluctant to come claiming (blankity blank blank) it had been fixed. As the man begrudgingly got down on his hand and knees to check things out my father put his hand on the man's shoulder and began to pray- Lord we thank you for this man and the skills you have given him. Now Lord we ask you guide his hand and help him be able to find the problem ( something to that affect). needless to say the man was a bit taken back and his tone changed drastically.
Ther furnace also came form a defunked company but when they spoke to another company and expalined their dilema they offered a good discount.
In the mean time they hung a plastic shower curtain across the entry to the living room and ran an electric heater which really kicked it out.
Sorry for your dilema.

If it is a gas furnace, try calling the gas company. They may know of a local place to get parts. We have a local business called "Reliable Parts" and they can get parts for almost anything, no matter what the age.

When our furnace went out this winter at -30, most places I called said that the part was not available and I would just have to buy a new furnace (from them, of course!) Don't accept that statement at face value.

Some repair people know where to get parts. I hope something works out for you.

It's not spring in upper MI. I lived there for 13 years and often the snow was still visible on Memorial day. I now live in south FL. I like being warm :lol:

You know about the corn bags and rice bags, eat them up and put in your bed at night to get the sheets and you warm.. Hope they hurry and find the part. Do you have any space heaters? They may be on sale now.
