Default Cecily Mary Barker Fairy Panel

I finally had time to turn my thoughts to this panel. After I cut off all the frufru, I added a fat quarter of green batik and then another of red interspersed with an off black edging. It is now up to 54"x40" I'm not sure if this is big enough so I've included a possible additional border. Thoughts Ladies and Gents?

OH yes, to the last border. Looks great and with that border it will be a very good size.

It looks super with the new borders! If you need it bigger than the fabric you have there is a good choice.

Lovely paisley fabric, MK.. How much bigger do you want it? IMHO, if you add the border it should be wider than the red border for 2 reasons--visual balance as well as showcasing the overall pattern of the paisley.

I love those fairy panels and love what you've done with this one! Love the green batik but not so much the black/grey paisley....print seems too big and distracts from the panel. not sure what else to suggest tho.

As I recall, this was going to go to a child? For that purpose, I didn't like the original fru-fru, so I'm glad you removed it, but it's like the ornate border is putting it back on. I personally like photo 1 and would leave it. The 54X40 size is just fine.
Now if you've changed your mind and it will go to an adult to be used as part of their Christmas décor, then I'd add the last border. The fabric is gorgeous, but to my mind, not for a kid.

The original Frufru was narrow and consisted of 2 additional colours. It was only about an inch but it was just all wrong.
Yes this is a rather formal paisley but it's what I have in my stash. I will take another look.
