Chair - what do you have?

I love the arms...they do not get in my way, but when I get in my thinking mood I just sit back and relax...I love how the chair is adjustable so it works well with my treadle or my sewing table

DH bought me a Koala SewComfort chair at a LQS when she had an unbelievable sale-even cheaper after taxes than any online site. Actually, I placed the order and he drove over to pick it up and pay for it. It was easy to assemble and rolls like a dream over the clear carpet mat.

I had a Koala chair too. Bought it when I bought my Koala sewing cabinet. Both way too expensive but anyway - the chair was very heavy and hard to push around in the carpeting provided in our apartment. After about 3 years, one of the thingys that held the wheels bent ( I think from running it over the carpeting ) Anyway, now I have an adjustable armless office chair with a very taut mesh back to let the air through. It's mostly made of a strong plastic, except for the seat and I love it. Got it at Staples. It's light enough for me to push back and forth while sitting in it. Fits me like a T.

Try out the adjustable office chairs on wheels at an office supply store. Mine doesn't have arms. I sat on every chair they had and the one I picked was one of the most reasonable in price but it was the one that fit me best.

I have two chairs. One is probably the same office chair everyone has. Good lumbar support, no arms, adjustable height. The second has lumbar support, adjustable height, but with arms and I love that one. It's the one I use all the time. I don't know why, but I love having the arms to rest my arms on. It makes a big difference to me.

I DO NOT have a chair.
I had started out with an adjustable height office chair and removed the arms. Then when I attended a Harriet Hargrave's class on machine quilting I learned more about ergonomics than I can even remember. She has a Hermann Miller airelon [spelling] chair as it fits her.
Well, I went to an upscale office furniture store and tried the HM chair, which at the time was probably $8900-$1000. I was glad it didn't fit me.
Then I saw what the store's people used at their desks. Swopper's. I talked the manager into letting me borrow one over the weekend. I loved it so much I bought one. Sit4less carries them. It is like sitting on an exercise ball in that it encourages you to have proper posture. It is very easily adjustable. I love it!
By the way ... I have had back surgery and do have arthritis.

I have two. Both are office chairs, one with arms when I am piecing (it is really comfortable) and one without. I use the one that doesn't have arms when fmq. It sits up higher and no arms for the quilt to get caught on.
