Do NOT use orange or yellow chalk, I know from my experience and my daughter's that they will not come out. These were in the Chaco Liner chalk selection. Why? One wonders.

I have used Cling Wrap numerous times. I use a slightly smaller stitch length and mark with a Frixion pen or a Crayola Ultra-Wash Marker. A flat white artist's eraser or the "eraser" of the Frixion pen are great for removing the wrap in small areas and I have never had a problem.

I have used both the blue & yellow Chaco Liner & they DID NOT come out. Even after several washes I could still
see some of the colour. Thankfully, it had faded enough that it didn't stand out like it did originally. I now, stay away from using either the blue or yellow chaco liners & only use the white which always comes off easily.

I recently read about using a Hera marker on white fabric. I purchased one, but have not had a chance to give is a try.

Have had excellent results with Crayola Washable markers, but, as always, test first.

I have used colored chalk and found it easy to remove with a soft toothbrush

I have used a plain old pencil, lightly and erase as I go. I mostly just do linear/straight line sometimes with a bit of a wiggle and on the bank (off side the ditch) quilting.

I've also tried this and it gummed my needle up terribly. Also not easy to get all the pieces out

Cheap tissue wrapping paper from dollar stores tears away nicely after sewing, and comes in nice sized sheets. Trace your quilt pattern onto it, design your quilting, and safety pin it on. Working for me, and any leftover bits wash right away.

I used blue and it was horrible. I would rather lightly mark with a number 2 pencil.
