    I always have a bag of hexies going, but must admit, if the "chaos" gets TOO bad, I'd go for the bowl of ice cream idea!!

    I relate to the bowl of ice cream. When things are topsy turvy for me to have a quilting project going on makes things worse. I just have to put everything away and focus on things besides quilting.

    I always wanted to try smocking. It looks just so very beautiful. There is a great blog by a lady who hand dyes fabrics and then smocks or pleats them to make jewelry:
