Charity Quilts for Kids

Like you, I make quilts for a charity that has no defined guidelines. The smallest baby/toddler quilts I make are 36" by 36". I made my son one that size when he was two, and of course it is too small even for his toddler bed, we lay it on top and he uses it to play with, and at naptime, and it's a good size to carry with us when we travel.
My other kid quilts have varied, but were larger - one was 42" X 56" and one was 51" square, another was around 48" square.
If I made a teen quilt, I'd try to make it at least 50" by 60 or 70 inches, since some teens are already adult size.

Thank you for your reply and sharing your experiences with the sizes and the ages. How quickly we forget the appropriate sizes for different ages when it's been well over 40 yrs. since you had toddlers and pre-schoolers around.
Happy quilting for your charities,
Andie
