I have done this before. Very easy. You can also use fusible interfactin and iron in place before stitching.

Thanks so much for that tut link!! I have not even wanted to think about doing applique because of the edges. Now I'll want to try applique for my next baby quilt.

Okay, I couldn't wait, just had to try it!!!! It is so NICE. of course it does work best on larger pieces such as the leaf but with practice and patience I can see WAY more applique in my future lol
