I'm working on a chevron right now. Using the HSTs and it's coming along well. I think I prefer making the HSTs from 2 squares because the diagonal is stitched before being cut.

Jenny Doan MSQC has a really nice chevron quilt pattern. Go to MSQC.com and you will find it under the tutorials tab.

I am making a chevron quilt right now for DGD. I am following MSQC's pattern and doing 10" squares, sewing around block and cutting as per her instructions. It has come together quickly.

I was going to do it the way Jenny does, but it seems like it would be easier to cut the triangle with the die, Less sewing.

I ended up cutting them with my triangle die on my Studio cutter. I have no issue with the bias and its sewing together quickly, but....I think I would have done better to use the 10 inch square since all of the fabric is used for the project. No waste with my triangle since I will use fabric for another project...but not for this project. So my recommendation is to use the 10 inch square, sew 1/4 inch all around and then cut them

[QUOTE=katier825;6526701]I can't comment on the dies since I've never used any die cutters, but I made 2 using different methods and wrote a comparison of my experience with both methods. Personally, I prefer the 1/2 square triangle method. Here's a link to my previous post.

Thanks for that info. I've been wanting to make a chevron quilt and thought the rectangle method might be easier, now I know it isn't and I will be using triangles.
