For piecing I use what ever thread I want to use up. The only time I try to match is if I'm sewing white or black fabric.

I use white, black and neutrals for piecing. I love to use varigateds for quilting though :D:D:D

I am in with the gray group. It seems to never let you down. Quilt with whatever suits your fancy, but the grays for piecing always seem to work well
